PurpleTeam.Ninja is raising awareness of this attack vector by directing anyone within the radius of a signal broadcast by a simple electronic device.

The device deployed as a PurpleTeam test module is known affectionately in our environment as a “Grenade”. In fact we have built it into a child’s plastic toy grenade.  As built, this device will run on battery for up to 20 hours.

To mitigate this attack we recommend using a wired mouse.

Some wireless mice are not vulnerable to this specific attack.
